No you don't need them. The game-play works just fine with the regular controller. The game controlls are however optimized to work with the Wii Zapper accessory. You could get that with the game if you wanted to.

Wii Game - Deer Drive?
Okay so for the Wii game Deer Drive do you need to buy guns with it in order to use the game or can you just use the regular Wii remotes. I am getting this for someone's birthday and I really don't want to screw this up.Wii Game - Deer Drive?
