SO CANT WAIT! TIPS PLZ! =)DEER HUNTING THIS WEEKEND ANY TIPS?
dont get whats called buck fever and shoot everything that moves.

only shoot if you know what is behind your target (or deer)

and only shoot if you know you can take the shot and not just wound it. also, just be smart and use common sence and you'll be fine.

DEER HUNTING THIS WEEKEND ANY TIPS?
I would say you need to practice your spelling and grammar more than your hunting skills. And I come from a family of hunters so yes, I do know what's involved. I'll tell you the same thing I tell my family: leave the deer alone and their natural predators will keep the population in check..

Report Abuse

The weekends over, but here are my tips. The deer do two things very well... Smell and hear. They can see fairly well, but are mostly color blind. If everything is calm in the woods except for you, they can pick up on your movements. Slow movements when the deer has it's head turned is the best bet to get into a shooting position. For your smell, buy a cover scent and store all of your hunting clothes in a Tupperware container. Put in some small pine or cedar branches to get them smelling really fresh. Use a ground blind if your hunting from the ground, and if your in a tree stand, the higher the better. Be safe in the woods, don't aim your weapon at anything you don't want to kill. Treat every weapon as if it was loaded. If your in a tree stand use a safety vest that attaches to the tree. Have a good trip.
Don't get excited as soon as you see a deer and pull the trigger instantly, force yourself to take a brief moment before beginning to squeeze the trigger. First time hunters, and sometimes experienced hunters, miss the shot because they get too excited once they finally see the animal.
Do not wear perfumes and scented soap,hang your hunting gear outside to air off,carry a few apples in your pockets,be quiet and be patient,letting the deer get as close to you as possible.and most of all Happy and SAFE hunting.
don't get to excited when it come times to shoot keep it cool deep breaths and most important have fun
Use a ground blind, or tree stand, and be very patient.*
Don't be afraid to shoot for meat instead of Trophy
Use a camera instead of a gun

....

People sitting in a deer stand, using a gun on an animal that is just doing what it was put on earth to do (forage) is hardly sport. It's more like a slaughter, strictly for your entertainment.

But I'll tell you what: to make it fair, put down the gun, hide in the brush and if you can ambush the deer, bring it down and kill it with your bare hands - no knife, no gun, nothing but you vs. the animal ... then I'll give you props for ';HUNTING';

Otherwise, you're just a killer. And yes, I AM a vegetarian, and no I DON'T wear leather.
