Friend has a dehydrated baby deer. Does anyone know what to give him? ASAP!!?

He's already called the vet, but the vet is out of town... Is there something we can give him? I didn't know if giving him some water with a little salt and sugar will work... I know that it does for dogs....

If you can help that would be great! And please no nasty comments, I'm serious about this whole thing!Friend has a dehydrated baby deer. Does anyone know what to give him? ASAP!!?
Phone any zoo and ask to speak to the zoo vet. They would know and can advise you over the phone.

Or call your animal shelter and ask who they work with that's a wildlife rehabber, most areas have at least one person who deals with wildlife and they are reachable over the phone. Emergency vet clinics are able to talk to you too, via phone--you can google one and call, it doesn't even have to be in your state.Friend has a dehydrated baby deer. Try to call a local zoo or animal sanctuary, or even your local game offical sometimes they have vets that can help with a situation like that. I would just keep the deer warm untill help can arrive, if you try to give them something like the salt/sugar water it could do more harm then good if you don't know for sure what is wrong with it....I hope you find a solution to your problem....
Go to the store and get a can of evaporated milk. Mix the entire can with a cup of water and one raw egg yolk. Cook it on the stove until it boils for one full minute and let it cool until it's body temperature then put it in a preemie baby bottle...

Make sure it's evaporated milk and NOT condensed.
