the largest bullet thats used in deer huntingWhat rifle has the largest caliber bullet (in deer rifle terms) not the largest gun ever!?
That is a very broad question as anything bigger than a .22 can be considered a 'deer rifle.' I am going to say that the answer is the .338 Lapua. Federal just came out with a .338 round in 2006, but I don't think it is nearly as powerful as the Lapua. Of course, the old .45-70 shoots a heavier, wider bullet but it is not as powerful as the .338s; also, there are the slug guns which can shoot rifled slugs wider and heavier than nearly any rifle and are regularly used for deer hunting in some places.
Happy New Year!

.338
I use a Rem. 7mm mag. for Whitetails, a guy I worked with used a 338 and I laughed at him when he showed up to work on Monday with a black-eye, I've heard a fellow car club member got himself a 458 Win. mag. for deer but never asked him if he really takes that Elephant into the woods to shoot Bambi.
I have used my Marlin Guide Gun in .450 Marlin. The actual bullet diameter is .458 of an inch. It uses the same bullet as the 45/70, but factory loadings in the .450 have a bit more oomph.
I used it last year to harvest my deer and it anchored my deer on the spot. It's plenty of gun for deer hunting. I like it though because the Guide Gun is a short handy rifle to carry in the woods, and I think it did less meat damage than my .270 WSM.
I used to have a ';50-110 Winchester';, that was years ago......
you can use just about any gun larger than a 22 cal.. but the largest that i know anyone actually using is a 50.bmg... full metal jacket.
well, if you are talking about centerfire cartridge, 44 cal is the largest, although muzzle loaders go up to 70 cal
I'd have to say a 45/70govt. It's an old black powder cartridge that's now loaded with smokeless powder. Usually loaded with 300gr or 405 gr bullets. .45 caliber bullet that was loaded with 70gr. of black powder, hence the 45/70.
i used a 444 caliber marlin
The largest bullet? some muzzle loaders use a pretty big .600 calibre bullet. But for deer? you don't need much bigger than a .300. In central texas, I use a .270 with a 3-9 scope.
For hunting ';deer';you really don't wantto go much bigger then a .338win mag.A lot of goodcompanys makethem from CZ to Howa to the basic ruger and remington. Anyone that hunts with a .50 bmg is a dumbass.
