Good luck.Best .270 Rifle i can buy for whitetail deer? (Websites to buy)?
If your not wanting to be cheap go with the 270 Weatherby it shoots faster and flatter than the original 270 Winchester the 270 Weatherby is one of the flattest shooting cartridges available. You could also look at the 270 WSM which is just short of the performance of the Weatherby but they tests their round with a 26'; barrel while the WSM in most cases is chambered in rifles with 24'; barrels so the performance in comparable guns would surely be very similar. I would recommend a Tikka T3 Lite Stainless, a Savage Model 14 American classic, or a Weatherby Vanguard.
How much do you want to $pend??? Kimber makes one of the nicest and most expensive factory rifles I can think of. http://www.kimberamerica.com/rifles/

Then there are special order custom guns like Jarrett-http://www.jarrettrifles.com/

Hard to beat a Remington M700 straight out of the box though-accurate, reliable and available with all kinds of options and finishes.

remington model 700, cheap, accurate, great right of the box, you can get something abit bigger than your spike. unfortunately youd probably have to use a dealer, but you could try

I've owned several Remington 700s in various calibres, and every one of them functioned flawlessly, shot accurately with darn near any factory ammo, and did the job reliably without any gremlins or mood-swings. My experience with other brands of rifle was less consistent: sometimes very good indeed, sometimes frustrating, sometimes somewhere in-between. I would trust a Rem 700 to take whatever I feed it and send the shot where it needs to go.
ok i am in the same thing as you are in now because i'm getting a 270 and i've been looking for a while and i found some really nice ones well what i did is i went to remington.com and i personally like the model 700 cdl because of it's look but i don't know how old you are or how big so if your not the strongest person rem just came out with a new model 7 and it is about a pound and a half lighter than the others but if i was you i would get a remington
I wouldn't think that there is a great deal of difference in any of the .270's available, other than the cost factor.

For myself, i shoot a HOWE model 1500 ( a little pricey, but who looks away from a gift ? )

Small family business. Very nice %26amp; helpful.
For the money the Remington 700 series of Bolt Action Rifles is top of the line. 270 caliber is an excellent choice for Deer hunting. You can go on-line to Remington.com and get a list of Authorized Firearms Distributors in your area, and you can also see all of the various Remington Firearms that are available. I am sure you are aware that you can't purchase any rifle directly and must go thru an FFL Dealer to order it legally....Good Luck
