recently my mom found a baby deer tangled in a fence .
we did'nt know if the mom was around or not so we left it alone then. but 15 min later it was still there she decided to take it to the vet. they said we would have to take it to a wildlife specialtist. so we did. They said they couldn't take it because of its age. We bought formula and feed it every two hours. Its doing fine but in Ohio theres a huge fine for having deer without a permit we just wanted to help it but its becoming to much what should we do?Oh deer! What now?
Try to find another licensed wildlife rehabilitator who will take the deer. Try here: http://www.tc.umn.edu/~devo0028/contact.鈥?/a>
Some licensed rehabbers will take baby deer at any age. When I volunteered at Avian Rehabilitation Center, I often had to deliver small mammals to a nearby rehabber who specialized in mammals. She always had deer of various ages, including bottle-fed babies.
If you have to keep it for even a short time, make sure you are giving it the right formula. People formula, cow's milk, even some pet formulas are not good for deer. Goat's milk is closest to a deer's natural milk.
Good luck with the fawn!Oh deer! What now?
tell them your story if they understand they won't do anything i am happy you saved her and.
i live in ohio and if you want me to take care of it just email me hollaback_girl1232000@yahoo.com

That's the ohio wildlife's info. I'd call them and ask them what to do. If nothing else, they will be able to make sure you stay legal until someone can take the deer.
My boyfriend's family raised a deer last spring when they found it in a field they were getting ready to plant. They just kept her in their barn and fed her every couple of hours making sure that the deer didn't get attached to her or anyone else so it could be re-released back into it's natural habitat. She finally got loose and went out on her own when she was ready. I would recommend that you continue to care for it and if someone finds out explain that you tried to give it to the wildlife people but they declined to take it, and since you didn't want animal cruelty charges brought against you for turning a defenseless animal loose you kept her to make sure that she would be safe!
call your local DNR or ASPCA,they may be able to help you get the deer to where it can be best treated and cared for to be eventually released into the wild.make sure you tell them where you already took the deer and who all you contacted for help.
Ok, there are many shelters you can give him to that will accept him. Do a search on google! That'll help, also the 2006 animal planet hero of the yr is a lady named Mona and they take in all sorts of animals! Do another search on google see what yu get!
