My boyfriend is out of town. if i threw his deer head away do you think he would mind?

No, of course not. You have my full support! :-)My boyfriend is out of town. if i threw his deer head away do you think he would mind?
probably. Is it real? did he do it himself? If you really want to. Tell him how you feel about it. My dad that it was so nasty! my mom didn't ask him so we threw it out he didn't mind, but he said we should've told us about it.My boyfriend is out of town. if i threw his deer head away do you think he would mind?
Yeah he would mind. Maybe move it to a new spot were you dont have to see it all the time.
He will be mad - maybe move it to his office, his garage, or his den, or a hallway no one sees.
If he threw your Coach purse away while you were gone, would you mind? I would :) Back away from the deer head.
he is going to be SO MAD, lol.
Maybe when you go to work..(if you do) He will throw some of your purses and clothes away. You think you would mind?
You should and when he comes back it will be you going out the door of your double wide !
Don't do it!!!
Umm...I'm sure he would mind.

Deer hunting problem?

I just started bow hunting this year. The past few times I have been hunting all of the deer have seen me almost before I see them. I am at least 15 feet up in a tree, and I stay very still in quiet, what is my problem?Deer hunting problem?
i bow hunt in a 12 foot tripod and i got a deer last Saturday so hight is not your problem, and who knows the deer might just be seeing you first.

i don't use any sent products i just keep my camo out in the woods where i hunt. along with what ever i wear under it, that seems to cover my sent pretty well.

as for your back ground i would check if there are some small trees nearby(maby 20 or 30ft high) and bend them so that the tops of them are behind you, you can use dark green rope for tieing them in place

also if you can move your stand i suggest putting it to the east of your clearing or feeder so in the morning the sun partially blinds the deer and gives you a better view of the deer(that would be for if you hunt mainly in the morning, if you hunt in the evening then try the west). but if your stand is built into the tree then i guess you will just have to live with it.

well that's all i can say good luck.Deer hunting problem?
they dont see you they smell you. shower with scentless soap before hunting and if you wash your clothes leave them hang outside for a few days.
Never ever used any scent remover that they are promoting now %26amp; I never had a problem harvesting Deer with Bow or Rifle.** You stand may be making noise or you need to change your location %26amp; air flow %26amp; air currents are unpredictable, however I think its because of the location where you are setting up, change your location %26amp; the way you set up your tree stand.*
Sounds like they are sniffing you out. Try not using anything artificial like deodorant, hair spray or after shave. Showering with unscented soap the night before will help.

Good luck.

H
They could be smelling you or are you just jumping the gun because the deer looked at you. I've been in a stand had a buck look right at me I didn't move a muscle I thought he was going to bolt out of there but nope he just walked around a bit kept looking at me every now and then I guess I looked like some big bundle of leaves or something. He knew something wasn't right with this situation but he didn't spook and I didn't shoot because I was just sitting there before the season had started and was checking out what was moving through my stand area. It was illegal for me to shoot that buck so I didn't but not the coyote that walked through an hour after the deer came through.
I can smell you from here
Have you tried scent cover up stuff? Also lures may help
Most likely it is your scent. I don't use the no scent washing detergent, toothpaste, or deotorant. Maybe I don't smell as bad as others...haha. What I do is, I spray my clothes and boots, inside and out, with Fresh Earth spray (I think made by Hunter's Specialties) and hang them up to dry the night before the hunt. Then I spray them again in the morning when I arrive to my hunting spot before walking into the woods (while they are on). Make sure to spray your boots really good in the morning too as the scent from the car mat may have all kinds of smells on it. Just make sure to spray the areas that sweat or smell more than others as well as on the hands and rub it in. To cover my breathe I use a camo handkerchief around my mouth (like a robber). These methods haven't failed me yet and I am the type of person who doesn't have a ton of money to spend on all the cover ups and doo dads so this is what I have to work with and it works.
Hey depends if you got you're rear end up wind or down wind, and lay off the deodorant's.
i agree with another poster in that they are smelling you.wash yout clothes in a scent free detergent.before you start out out in the woods spray yourself down with a scent killer.many hunters often overlook the fact that their gear will give off a smell so spray your equipment with a scent killer.rubber soled boots will give off a strong odor. spray them down before you ever leave camp and then again when to arrive at your stand.i will often spray the stand when i get there and leave.be careful with anything you use for shaving, brushing your teeth, showering,or any bath soaps. they have many of these that are scent free.if i use a masking scent i try to match it to the trees in the area.we have a great deal od pine trees so i use a pine scent.i think it is bad to use a overbearinf scent masker.i use a water based and it works great.i have had deer bed down under my stand while i was there.if you control you scent then there is no need to be up so high.look things over that may give off a scent and try to stop that. i see now they even have a scent killer for your breath.spray the areas of your body that may swet.

You need to put some camo burlap around your stand. You can use scent free products, but think what hunters did before the scant free products. Adjust your stand for the wind and try showering before you go and not using deodorant of any kind. All of the cover scents are not even good to use. Just think old fashioned.
Watch your scent, how fast you move (move slowly if you have to move and look around using your eyes instead of turning your head when you can) and your placement of the treestand. If you are out in the open, they can see you easily. If you are in a cedar tree or some evergreen tree, that's the best in my opinion. You can hide when the leaves of other trees fall off, you are still hid in the green. Don't saw too many branches off. Just get about 2 or 3 shot holes where you can get a clean shot and keep you hid with the others. oh, you can also paint your face and hands with green, brown, or black paint if you don't have a head covering or gloves.
yep desent your self, are you up in a tree stand?
They can probably smell you. Take a scent free shower and use scent free products on your clothes and shoes and everything else you take bow hunting with you.. Hope this helps you get the Thirty pointer...
try going to a sports goods store and get some scent killer because deer dont look up on there own.scent killer is usually about 10.00 for a spray bottle(well worth it if you really are desperate to get somthing)
Being scented is the biggest cause of spooking deer. However if you play your cards right you can get by without scent killers. Don't get me wrong, scent killers do work and really do increase your odds of success. One of the best things to remember is to position your stand so the wind is in your face and the sun is at your back. This means more than one stand when you are hunting different times of the day. Deer have this uncanny knowledge of knowing just about every stick, tree and blade of grass in the woods. They know when something changes, like you being there even thought you use all the scent killer stuff on the market. Don't get discouraged, the time will come and one will let down it's guard.
You stink.....

Use apples.
They may be seeing your outline, humans have a very distinct outline in the wild and are very easy to pick out. Make sure you have enough cover behind you. I like to situate my stand with a large evergreen tree of some sort behind me so that I have background cover year round. Deer will be familiar with the area they travel and a human shaped object will stick out like a sore thumb.

Also take every measure to eliminate your scent. Deer see different than we do, so camoflauge isn't all that important. Make sure however, not to wash the clothes you hunt in with laundry soap that uses U.V. brighteners. Use a soap specifically designed for hunters, or wash your clothes in just plain water and let them sit outside until use.

Is this a 8 point deer?

does a 8 point deer have 8 points to their antler?? new at the hunting stuff. cuz the deer i lookd at on good it only had 6 points and they said it was a 8 point, didnt know?? if you need me to show you a pic. just let me know and ill email it to you.Is this a 8 point deer?
It means that in total there are 8 points on the deer. If you only saw six then it is a possibility that is had 2 eye guards that were an inch long and a little hard to see.Is this a 8 point deer?
The amount of points a rack has is the total amount of tines are present that are longer than 1 inch. To find your total point count you just add up anything longer than an inch.
the total number of points on the rack is how many points it is

if i saw the pic, i'd be able to help you more, you can go to my profile and send me a email that way- i'd be glad to help (:

the link doesn't work
A ';point'; has to be at least 1'; or more. Other than that, it is a sticker, bump, tickler, wannabe, nice try, drink some more, and it just doesn't cut it. (wisconsin)
It's a simple matter to calculate the points on a deer. A ';point'; is counted if it is at least an inch long. Most deer have the equal number of points on each side, but there are exceptions. I shot a 7 point deer last year. In some parts of the country, only one side is counted, so if there are 4 on each side, it's considered a 4 point. But in most places, the points are totaled, and the same deer wound be considered an 8 pointer.
count the points then you will no for your self if it has 6 points then that is what it is if it has 8 points then you got a 8 point deer
Points refer to the points on a deer's antlers. When scoring the number of points on a deer's antlers, anything large enough to hang a ring on will count as a point. There are two scoring systems. One system counts all of the points on both sides of the deer's antlers to arrive at the number of points. This seems to be the most common method. Another method counts only the points on one side. So, a deer having a total of 4 points on each side would be referred to as an 8 point deer under the first method. Under the second method, he would be referred to as a 4 X 4. If he had a total of 4 points on one side and 5 on the other, the first system would refer to him simply as a 9 point deer while the second method would call him a 5X4.
count the points, they need to be at least one inch long. A picture would be helpful

Can a 243 drop a deer?

ok im useing a 243 savage with 100 grain can i kill a DeerCan a 243 drop a deer?
It will drop a dear very nicely. I have killed several with a .243 that went down like they were hit by lightning. Anyone who tells you that a .243 isn't enough gun for deer doesn't have a clue what they're talking about. Can a 243 drop a deer?
A 243 is good for deer in open country but as a brush gun no way. I have been hunting in Pa a long time and I have seen a lot of people in my hunting party use a 243 only to come back empty handed. They came back to camp empty handed not for a lack of shooting but for a lack of hitting deer in brush. If all you have is a 243 I would hunt in open country like fields, power lines, logging areas etc.Hunting in woodlands and brush I prefer a bigger bullet 150gr or higher.
shot placement is everything. i heard (what might be a tall tale) that a man took a deer with a perfect head shot with a .22 MAG.

i myself have taken a few with a .243.
If you're asking if the cartridge is capable, yes it is. If you're asking if it's legal where you live to use a 243, we have no way of knowing.
Won't ';drop'; one persay, but yes, it's a very good cartridge for ';killing'; deer.
close up yes 100 yards plus i wouldnt bet on it
gee i don't know seeing how that is its main purpose is as a deer rifle

hmmm can a deer rifle kill a deer?
One of my friends brothers uses a semi-auto .243 for deer hunting and it works nice.
depends on your shot placement but the .243 is a great deer round.

This is from Rootsweb.com the Deer Surname board ';MY RESEARCH INDICATES THAT THE FAMILY NAME DEER IS OF CELTIC ORIGIN AND MEANS ';WOODS OR FOREST'; AND WAS FIRST USED BY FAMILIES THAT LIVED IN THE WOODS OR FORESTS AND HUNTED ANIMALS FOR THEIR LIVING. FIRST RECORDED IN ABERDEENSHIRE SCOTLAND IN ABOUT 800 AD. ALSO THERE ARE DEER FAMILIES THAT WERE GERMAN DIER

AND CHANGED IT TO DEER. MARTIN DIER WAS IN REV. WAR BUT RECEIVED PENSION AS MARTIN DEER.

THERE ARE ALSO INDIANS THAT ADOPTED THE DEER NAME SINCE THEIR INDIAN NAME MEANT DEER. I HAVE FOUND FAMILIES THAT WERE DEER,THEN DEERE,OR DEAR, OR DEARE, OR DEERY. I BELIEVE

THAT MOST OF THE DEER FAMILY IN THE USA CAME FROM SOME WHERE IN THE BRITISH ISLES ORIGINALLY. THERE ARE DEER FAMILIES IN AUSTRALIA. MY FAMILY ARRIVED IN CHARLESTON SC

IN 1699 AND HE HAD BEEN A PIRATE BEFORE THAT.

I BELIEVE THAT MY BRANCH HAD BEEN SOLD AS INDENTURED SERVANTS TO SUGAR CANE PLANTATION OWNERS IN BARBADOS FOR 10 POUNDS BY OLIVER CROMWELL IN 1652 AFTER THEIR CIVIL WAR. ';

Good Luck
This is what www.ancestry.com has to say about the name,

  • Deer hunting.is this even possible?

ok so i went deer hunting and shot a 12 pointer tracked it down got it right. i shot it right throught the heart and lungs is that possible? and another thing is it ran 2 miles how is that possible with no lungs or heart? i also shot a doe with my bow lol im a rapper! and dropped it in 10 yards with heart shot whats up here?Deer hunting.is this even possible?
I have to admit I'm skeptical. However, assuming that your projectile (you don't say if it's a bullet, slug, arrow, whatever) really did go through one lung, the heart, and the other lung, and the deer really did run two miles, this is my best guess:

Even within the heart/lung ';kill zone';, there's going to be some variation in terms of how fast the blood loss brings the animal down. Say your shot just nicks the heart, instead of shattering it, for example, and the lungs don't collapse. Then the deer will still get some blood pumped to the muscles until it bleeds out, which could take minutes rather than seconds. At about 30 miles an hour, the deer would only need to keep running for 4 minutes to cover two miles. But could even a highly adrenalinized animal keep running at full speed for that long with massive blood loss? It would at least be highly unusual.Deer hunting.is this even possible?
That didn't really happen. A deer cannot run 2 miles when the heart and lungs are all destroyed. It is not physically possible. If one of the lungs or the heart is shot, then it is possible. Also, the heart is in front of the lungs, so you would have had to shoot it from directly in front or behind to hit all three, which would still be hard because the lungs lay next to each other. So it would be almost impossible to shoot through all three unless the bullet was deflected by bone and came back into the vitals.

I think this did not happen.
Well Dusty, here's the deal. I've killed an awful lot of deer in my lifetime, with both gun and bow. When I made a good hit (heart-lung area) with either a gun or bow, a deer will usually run from 50 to 150 yards on average.Very few would drop in their tracks, but it does happen on occasion. However, none have ever ran over 200 yards when hit in the heart-lung area. But when you are blood trailing sometimes it seems as if the deer ran for a mile, especially when trailing at night. But if you actually measured the distance it would be under 200 yards. I think you are just a little mistaken about the distance. Or perhaps you are mistaken about where the bullet hit the deer at. There were many times I would have bet every dollar I had on where I had hit a deer at.And sometimes I was completely wrong. But congratulations on your 12 pointer, and hats off to your great tracking job, no matter how far it actually was.
You shot it with an arrow? If so that is probably your answer. An arrow has absolutely no shocking power and the deer has to bleed out to die. That buck was running on pure adrenaline. You see a man gets shot, stabbed whatever and he knows what has happened and so he drops. An animal has no idea what's going on and so it runs, and runs, and runs... The doe just didn't go into adrenaline overdrive and so it dropped sooner. For this reason I use a .25-06 Remington or larger caliber deer rifle. I've only had one deer run and that shot just took out the heart completely missing the lungs (it must have exhaled) and it ran 110 yards. Now I try for neck shots only.

    H
I smell a tall tail. All those organs dont line up. It would have to walk right at you...if you shot it head on the heart is almost right between the 2 lungs, so you could only hit the heart and one of the lungs. There is is way to hit both lungs front on.If you shot it from the side the heart sits in front of the lungs, the you`ll either hit jsut the heart or both lungs....c`mon kid we`ve been doing this for year. And then for it to run 2 miles? Do you know what 2 miles is in the woods? depending on terrain sometimes 200 yards feels like 2 miles.
yes its possible you complete moron. When you hit a deer with a deadly projectile, it gets awfully excited and this thing called ';adrenaline'; pumps throughout the rest of the deers body. The deer can then run away, even though you may have just shot it in the heart or lungs.
i depends on the caliber you have to make sure the bullet can take the animal down i never had a problem with a 30-06 or you might have just clipped the lungs but they will run a little when you heart shoot them but double lung shot never goes for more than 50 yds tops
I am terribly sorry, but that never really happened the way you told your story.* It would be physically impossible for any animal to have traveled that far with that type of wound or injury.* You are fibbing, and its not even April first yet.*
an animals nervous system will continue to react, even after it is dead. That is how the term';running around like a chicken with it's head cut off'; came about. My sister used to work in a funeral home. She told us alot of stories of bodies suddenly sitting up, brrr
G'day mate all i can say is you must of shot it at a distance and the bullet didn't go deep enough and it bled to death while trying to get away.Or y didn't hit it right and it was near the area of the lungs and heart.cheers mate
And how do you know this? You could of just missed them and only shot in the general vicinity of where the vital organs would be. Cause there's no way it would of been able to run that far or even survive for that long.
It's possible. I knew someone who shot a deer 3 times in the head with 12ga magnum slugs and the damn thing was still trying to get back up. He ended up finishing it off by clubbing it over the head with a tree branch.
If the bullet only scratched the heart or grazed the lungs but did not collapse them or failed to expand upon impact (if you were using FMJ instead of soft pointed rounds or ballistic tips), then I don't see how the deer could run 2 miles before dying.
I tell ya what's up, the 12 point story is BS, or you don't know a deer's internal organs. The doe story is believable. Could be you're a rapper and spinner of tall tales.
i do not believe you either. I have shot 2 bucks and 3 does all in the heart except my first doe I shot it in the neck in the neck and the farest they have ran was about 55 yards.
where are you hunitin i want to go there your a very good hunter i killed a 12 and a 7 pointer in the same dday but back to the question yes its possible but its very rare good huntin
It certainly wouldnt have ran 2 miles, but it may have ran 2-300 yards.
no on the 12 pt. yes on the doe in the fog of tracking 2 miles is out there
    I dont believe you.
